ALGAE BIOPLASTIC
Grisea integrates the production of algae on the Brazilian coast to the growing world demand for solutions that promote the replacement of non-biodegradable petroleum plastic. We are developing a thermoplastic product using seaweed, which will be used to produce products that are now discarded incorrectly, causing enormous environmental damage.
THE RAW MATERIAL

We use ingredients extracted from seaweed to develop our bioplastic. Growing seaweed is simple and does not require the use of pesticides or fertilizers. They grow quickly and sustainably.
APPLICATIONS
OUR TECHNOLOGY
Our products are developed to be compatible with the production lines found in the industry, and can be processed in the common plastic transformation equipment. We develop our technology in partnership with one of the largest universities in the country, the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). In this way, our product was designed to be scalable, that is, to make it possible to produce it in large quantities without significant changes in the processes already established by the industry. Instead of competing with this infrastructure, our material works within the existing infrastructure, adding value in the production chain.
THE FUTURE
Bioplastic made from seaweed ingredients is highly competitively priced. Its degradation in the environment is fast and natural, generating only nutrients for the soil. Furthermore, our bioplastics do not have toxic ingredients in their composition and all their production is designed to be sustainable.
